Handbrake linkage brake calliper for Renault R8 (incl. Gordini), Caravelle/Floride A major problem during restoration is when parts supplied with the vehicle do not (or do not want to) fit together. This is often the case with everything that connects the handbrake handle to the brake callipers. One element meshes with the other: the handle leads to the rear lever unit via the primary cable. From there, the secondary cable leads to the bolts of the brake callipers on the left and right. Let's remember: since the introduction of the disc brake, the connecting parts and the cables have changed several times, from the Dauphine to the R8 and the Alpine 110. The variety of possibilities only leads to difficulties in theory. In practice, it is rather the poor availability of the corresponding parts that makes the choice so difficult. Ein Element greift ins andere: der Griff führt über das Primärseil an die hintere Hebel-Einheit. Von dort führt das Sekundärseil an die Bolzen der Bremssättel links und rechts. Erinnern wir uns: seit Einführung der Scheibenbremse wurden von Dauphine über R8 bis hin zur Alpine 110 die Anschlussteile sowie auch die Seile mehrfach verändert. Die Vielfalt der Möglichkeiten führt nur theoretisch zu Schwierigkeiten. In der Praxis ist’s eher die schlechte Verfügbarkeit der entsprechenden Teile, die die Wahl zur Qual macht. Man muss „nur“ wissen, was wie zueinander gehört, bzw. wie man sich mit den Gegebenheiten (be)helfen kann. Wir haben dieses Set fahrzeug-spezifisch zusammengestellt.
